1. Open Vista Mail, go to the Tools Menu and select Accounts.

2. Click the Add button.

3. Select E-Mail Account and click the Next button.

4. Enter your Display Name. This is the name that you would like displayed to others when you send mail to them. Click Next.

5. Enter your E-Mail Address. Click Next.

6. Enter the POP3 and the SMTP server. (pop3.terradon.net, smtp.terradon.net) Click the check box "Outgoing server requires authentication". Click Next.

7. Enter your POP3 user name and password, click Next. (user name format: company-username)

8. Make sure the "Do not download my e-mail and folders at this time" checkbox is checked. Click Finish.

9. Highlight your Terradon email account, and then click Properties button.

10. Select the Servers tab. Check the box "My server requires authentication" and then click the Settings button.

11. Click the log on using radio button, fill in the smtp user name and the password. Click OK.

12. Click the Advanced tab. Check "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" under the Incoming mail port. The port will change to 995. Change the server timeouts here to 3 minutes. Click Ok.

Penetration Testing

A Penetration Test, or "pen test," is a non-cooperative (blind) attempt to compromise systems or information housed on client information systems. External Penetration Testing tests external systems for possible points of unauthorized ingress. External systems are defined as those visible to the public via internet, wireless, or telephony systems. Internal Penetration Testing tests internal systems for possible lapses in security policies. A pen test does not enumerate all possible vulnerabilities, it only illustrates a few vulnerabilities that could be used to compromise the system.

The methods used in Penetration Testing include:

Enumeration of network protocols, nodes and listening services
Attempts to gain footholds and escalate privileges on visible and potentially vulnerable network systems
Attempts to gain access to sensitive information through "social engineering" methods - speaking with employees acting as another employee or partner
Attempts at escalating privileges or capabilities on phone systems
Attempts to gain access via wired and wireless networking

Vulnerability Assessments

A Vulnerability Assessment (VA) tests systems for possible vulnerabilities. A vulnerability analysis is cooperative testing method for vulnerabilities in accessible systems. TCG engineers use network maps, authorization tokens (logins, passwords, etc.) and other information to perform a complete vulnerability analysis.

The methods used in Vulnerability Assessment include:

Content Management

No one knows what you want and need to say on your web site more than you. Our web site projects are each developed using a content management system (CMS) that provides you, the customer, with all the tools necessary to maintain and expand your on-line presence. A CMS reduces or even eliminates your need for outside developers or technical staff to maintain your web site. It empowers the competent communicators within your organization to maintain their own areas of the web site, using simple, intuitive tools - and no additional or special software is required.

The User Experience

The “User Experience” refers to the overall satisfaction of the end user with the time they spend while visiting or using an application or web site. The User Experience is generally a function of the appearance, layout, and design of the site as determined by the “Graphical User Interface”, or GUI (pronounced Goo-E), and the ease of finding information within the site, its “accessibility” and “navigability.” The GUI includes the graphical elements that are wrapped around the content (“copy”) within each Web page. Usability best practices dictate that the GUI be consistent across the site (i.e. navigation, logo, and other elements always reside in the same place). This ensures that the user intuitively knows how to get around the site from page to page and upon subsequent site visits.

Generally, we design the printed page to look very different from what is presented on-screen. The GUI incorporates a “printer friendly” alternative so that a printed page appears more like a document, rather than a web page.

Accessibility

The experience is different for each user, and certain users have special needs. The design template (or user interface) of each page provides for users with visual impairments, according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Accessibility Guidelines.

Navigation

The navigation location and style is often dictated by the design, and the space provided for it within the GUI. However, “navigability” refers not to the navigational menus within a site, but to the ease of finding relevant information.

Generally, the navigation itself is implemented to go “no deeper” than three clicks from the home page. Content located “deeper” in the site can be linked within the content of the page.

A Site-wide Search is standard on each web page to ensure that content can be located from any page, regardless of where the page may be within the site.

What are Accessibility and Usability?

Merriam-Webster defines accessible as an adjective meaning that something is “capable of being reached, influenced, used, seen, understood, or appreciated.” Accessibility on the Web deals with barriers – either physiological or technological – that would make visitors incapable of using a Web site. Physiological barriers, such as impaired vision or limited muscle control, and technological barriers, such as devices with small screens or slow connection speeds, can adversely affect a visitor’s capability to use the site.

Merriam-Webster defines usable as an adjective meaning that something is “convenient and practicable for use.” Therefore, for a Web site to be usable, it should be easy for a user to navigate, understand, and otherwise interact with the site. Interactions with a Web site should follow visitors’ expectations that have formed through using other Web sites and computer software. Elements that do not behave in logical, predictable ways can hamper a visitor’s ability to use the site.

Why Worry About Accessibility and Usability?

There are a handful of government regulations mandating certain accessibility features from government agencies. Although private organizations are not legally bound to follow them, doing so is the responsible thing to do and usually requires only a small amount of diligence.

High accessibility is also a very effective method of search engine optimization. It can be helpful to think of search engines as users with substantial constraints – they cannot read text in images, nor can they “view” many other kinds of multimedia content. Increasing a web site’s accessibility to humans also allows the search engines to “see” its content better.

While high accessibility enables various visitors to use a site, usability helps keep the visitors there. Web site visitors have notoriously short attention spans. Poor usability quickly wastes away those attention spans.
